Is it time to part with your Company C rug?
While our rugs are long-lasting, sometimes an update is needed—styles change, kids, pets and love have worn down your rug over the years, or you need to downsize. Whatever the reason, when it’s time to say goodbye to your Company C rug, there are several options available to ensure it does not go to a landfill.
Donating Your Rug
If your rug is in good condition (clean, gently-used, or free of major damage) then the easiest and most helpful way to part with your rug is by donating it. If desired, you might get your rug appraised before donating it, as you can claim it on your taxes as a charitable donation.
Many charities are willing to take household items such as rugs (or bedding, pillows, and furniture). Give your local charity a call and see if they accept these items.

Composting Your Rug
Many of our 100% wool rugs contain a natural rubber latex backing and can be composted. Our hand-knotted, soumak, and other hand-woven wool rugs do not contain a backing and are also compostable.
Please be sure to check the contents of your rug by looking at the label as some may contain polyester which is not compostable.

From energy and recycling initiatives in our corporate office, to materials sourcing and manufacturing, we devote time and resources to ensuring that Company C products are made as environmentally friendly as possible.
We partner with manufacturers that share our sustainable sourcing goals. This includes using natural fibers like New Zealand wool, jute and organic cotton, Azo-free dyes, and recycled plastic bottles for most ColorSpree rugs. New in 2023, we achieved two new certifications: Responsible Wool Standard and Global Recycled Standard. These standards start with requiring best practices in animal welfare and land management, or in the manufacture of synthetic fibers from recycled material. They continue with verified transactions at every point in the supply chain, ensuring a strong chain of custody for certified materials.

Since 2005, Company C has been a member of GoodWeave, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending child labor, forced labor and bonded labor in global supply chains.
